Conferences

NCMA's education conferences are designed to bring together contracting professionals from government, industry, business, and academia to explore today's top issues and promote continuing professional education.  Connect with business, legislative, and political professionals.

NCMA invites you to join us for some of the best networking opportunities our vocation has to offer. These events include the World Congress Conference, Aerospace and Defense Contract Management Conference, Government Contract Management Conference, Virtual Conferences, Leadership Summit, and Mid-Year Leadership Conference. These premier events draw key contract management professionals from across the country looking to meet people just like you.

For more information about our events, go to our Events Calendar.

Chapter Affiliation

The chapter is a member benefit that adds value to the association by providing opportunities to members for networking, information on the profession, and educational forums that lead to career enhancement, in a local setting, tailored to local needs.

Chapters provide structure for the connection of members at the grassroots level. Monthly chapter meetings are an excellent opportunity for networking. Where else can you sit next to a vice president of contracts, or the senior acquisition executive of a federal agency, and have an opportunity to chat over cocktails or dinner? Networking in person, even in the information age, remains an essential member benefit.

Volunteerism

Volunteering is not a "one-way street"-being a volunteer isn't just for NCMA's benefit. Volunteering can provide many personal benefits, it is a great way for you to develop new skills, network and meet the people that matter to your career, and achieve a sense of accomplishment in a job well done.

To volunteer nationally or for your local chapter, update your volunteer interests under your member profile online under the "My Preferences & About Me" tab.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is a body of up to twenty-three members elected to govern the association. The Board determines the organization's mission and purposes, selects and guides the executive staff, ensures effective organizational planning, ensures adequate resources are available and well-managed to accomplish objectives, and determines and monitors the organization's programs and services. The Board is composed of three officers, twelve directors elected by membership, six directors elected by the Board, the General Counsel and Executive Director (ex officio non-voting members).

Board of Advisors

The Board of Advisors provides top level counsel to the National leaders of NCMA in planning and achieving the Association's objectives. The Council consists of members representing a cross section of senior executives associated with the profession, from the public sector (including federal, state, and local government), the private sector (including industry and professional firms), accredited educational institutions and/or other recognized training establishments, and retired individuals. Council appointments are made by the President for a period of one year.

The Council members act as advocates of contract management/acquisition professionalism, serve as program speakers, promote professionalism through membership and active participation in NCMA, and foster effective communication between industry, government, educational institutions and other organizations, and activities concerned with the procurement process.
