CPCM Online Preparatory Course

This comprehensive, 10-week, online, instructor-led course provides a rigorous learning experience for those who desire structured exam preparation. Course participants will learn through weekly readings, assignments, discussion forums, videos, recorded lessons, and practice exams. All Contract Management Body of Knowledge (CMBOK) competencies will be tested on during the examination, and all competencies will be presented during the prep course.

Instructor:

Janice Smets, Ph.D
CPCM, Fellow

Dr. Janice Smets has 26 years of government procurement experience working for the Department of Defense as well as 7 years teaching as an adjunct professor. She has a BS degree in Business/Marketing, a MS degree in Acquisition and Contract Management, a PhD in Business/Organizational Leadership, and reached Level III in the APDP government acquisition program. She has awarded and administered all contract types, is highly knowledgeable of the FAR and DFAR, and has performed as a contract specialist, cost/price analyst, and contracting officer. She has been a NCMA member since 1984 and has presented at NCMA’s World Congress and instructed NES courses for various chapters.

Registered participants who wish to withdraw from the course may request a full refund up to five business days before the official course start date. Withdrawal requests must be made in writing and submitted to learningcenter@ncmahq.org. Participants who wish to withdraw from the class within five days before the official start date and five days after the official start date will only be refunded 50% of their course fee. Refunds will not be issued for withdraw requests made after five days from the start of the class. Participants who withdraw from the course must mail their course materials back to NCMA before a refund will be issued. If a participant chooses to keep the materials, the cost of the materials and shipping will be deducted from the refund amount.


Due to the nature of the course structure, registrations are nontransferable and cannot be deferred.

While the course may be taken prior to application submission, students do so at their own risk. CPCM candidates must have an approved application on file prior to scheduling an examination. Individuals who do not meet the education, experience, and CPE requirements will not be allowed to test. It is the individual’s responsibility to confirm that he or she is eligible for the CPCM program prior to enrolling in the CPCM Online Preparatory Course.
