Jaclyn Zandieh won’t be participating in the rite of passage that most graduating seniors experience this time of year: the job hunt.
A student in the finance, real estate, and law program in the College of Business Administration, Zandieh had a career waiting for her when she completed her studies in the winter quarter. Northrop Grumman “interviewed me on Friday and offered me a job on Monday,” Zandieh says, recounting her whirlwind experience at the Career Fair last fall, where several employers competed for students with her skills.

Over the past few years, there have been a multitude of articles, presentations, and reports documenting the human capital shortages in the acquisition management area of both the federal and commercial markets. Suffice it to say, yes, there are very definite staffing needs, and yes, there are jobs available around the country.
Part of the challenge in filling these positions has been to educate students, recent graduates, and mid-career professionals looking for a change about what “acquisition” is, why it is important to our nation, and why it is an excellent and interesting career field to enter.

Definitions
· Teaming: An agreement among two or more prospective offerors to participate jointly in a business venture..
· Supplemental Agreements: Contract modifications that are accomplished by the mutual consent of the parties.
· Proposal Preparation: Activities and events required to submit an offer or quotation, usually a response to a customer request.
NCMA Resources
NCMA has established the Guide to the Contract Management Body of Knowledge (CMBOK) as the prevailing guidance for how universities should align their contract management curricula. The guide provides the knowledge areas and competencies that are integral to the contract management process and the contract management profession.
