Eligibility and Steps to Certification

Eligibility for the CCCM requires a candidate to have:

  • A degree from a regionally or Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) accredited institution at the bachelor's level.
  • Degrees from outside the U.S. must be evaluated by an independent third party such as World Education Services.
  • One year of work experience in the contract management field.
  • 80 hours of continuing professional education; see our Continuing Professional Education (CPE) GuidePDF format for details. 

To earn the CCCM, a candidate must take and pass the CCCM exam.

Steps to Certification:

Application

  1. Complete application
  2. Pay fee and send to NCMA with supporting documents

Registration

  1. NCMA reviews application in 15 business days
  2. NCMA sends record of eligibility to exam provider
  3. NCMA e-mails instructions to candidate
  4. Candidate registers for exam

Examination

  1. Candidate takes the exam in secure, proctored environment
  2. Passing score for the CCCM exam is a minimum of 70%
