NCMA to Host Public Meeting on Proposed FAR Rule
Neutral Forum to Discuss FAR Case 2007-17, Service Contractor Employee Personal Conflicts of Interest
ASHBURN, Va. – May 20, 2008 – The National Contract Management Association (NCMA) will host a public meeting on Wednesday, May 21 at 1:00 PM, to discuss FAR Case 2007-17. The event is open to the public, and several leaders in the contract management profession have been invited.
“NCMA believes this is an issue of importance to many contract managers within both government and industry,” said NCMA Executive Director, Neal Couture. “NCMA does not have an official position on the proposed rule and has organized this event as a neutral forum to enable the open exchange of ideas.”
The meeting will be facilitated by Mr. Vic Avetissian, NCMA past national president, Board of Advisors member, and advocacy committee advisor. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the location below:

Following the meeting, NCMA will develop any input for submission to the FAR Secretariat addressing the proposed rule. The Civilian Agency Acquisition Council and the Defense Acquisition Regulations Council (the Councils) are interested in effectively and efficiently promoting ethical behavior by determining methods of addressing service contractor employees' personal conflicts of interest (PCI) and methods of disclosing contractor practices, prohibitions, or reliance on specified principles.
