NCMA Launches New Communities of Practice at World Congress 2008

NCMA’s Latest Tool to Ensure Success in Contract Management

ASHBURN, Va. – March 25, 2008 – The National Contract Management Association (NCMA) launches its new Communities of Practice (CoPs) at World Congress 2008, which takes place April 1316, in Cincinnati, Ohio. CoPs will offer expanded learning and networking opportunities for members involved in small business contracting; performance-based service acquisition; and task delivery order and schedule contracting.

World Congress attendees can take a tour of the communities and get started connecting to the resources they need by visiting the CoPs booth, participating in networking breakfasts, and engaging in meaningful discussions at the conversation pods.

CoPs provide a new way to customize individual memberships and further engage in NCMA. Members can keep up on the latest news and trends, chat with industry experts, network and learn within targeted areas of interest. From April 2008–March 2009 all NCMA members will get a free sneak peak at the community Web sites.

“We are excited to offer this new benefit to NCMA Members,” states NCMA Executive Director, Neal Couture. “No other association representing the contract management profession provides online communities as a forum for networking and information sharing.”

CoPs require a variety of roles to support the ongoing activities. NCMA is seeking community leaders and knowledge experts to assist with the community development. If you are interested in expanding the knowledge base, suggesting meeting topics, serving as a subject matter expert, or promoting the communities – we want your ideas. Please contact Michael Sturm, Education Program Manager, at For more information, visit or stop by the CoPs booth at World Congress.
