NCMA Board of Directors Issues New Strategic Plan ASHBURN, VA—February 8, 2011—A new strategic plan is in place for the National Contract Management Association (NCMA). After recently celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of its founding, NCMA leaders re-focused the association’s mission to advance the contract management profession. The NCMA Board of Directors determined the new strategic plan, viewed in its entirety on the www.ncmahq.org website, was the best way to strengthen the contract management profession through the individuals who make it their business. The four objectives NCMA will be focusing on include expanding advocacy and outreach for the profession, creating standards for the profession that are widely recognized and adopted, creating programs and services to help people enter into and progress within the contract management profession, and developing new ways to reach and provide value for existing and potential members. About NCMA Founded in 1959, NCMA is the world’s leading professional resource for those in the field of contract management. The organization, which has over 20,000 members, is dedicated to the professional growth and educational advancement of procurement and acquisition personnel worldwide. NCMA strives to serve and inform the profession it represents and to offer opportunities for the open exchange of ideas in neutral forums. “Implementing this strategic plan means that NCMA members will have the resources they need to enhance their professional performance. We look to create valuable tools and services for our members to help them at each stage of their career,” said NCMA President Karen Wilson.
