NCMA Board of Directors Issues New Strategic Plan

ASHBURN, VA—February 8, 2011—A new strategic plan is in place for the National Contract Management Association (NCMA). After recently celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of its founding, NCMA leaders re-focused the association’s mission to advance the contract management profession.

“Implementing this strategic plan means that NCMA members will have the resources they need to enhance their professional performance. We look to create valuable tools and services for our members to help them at each stage of their career,” said NCMA President Karen Wilson.

The NCMA Board of Directors determined the new strategic plan, viewed in its entirety on the website, was the best way to strengthen the contract management profession through the individuals who make it their business. The four objectives NCMA will be focusing on include expanding advocacy and outreach for the profession, creating standards for the profession that are widely recognized and adopted, creating programs and services to help people enter into and progress within the contract management profession, and developing new ways to reach and provide value for existing and potential members.
