NCMA Signs an Alliance Agreement to Form the International Business Development Council

ASHBURN, VA—April 21, 2009—On March, 9, 2009, The National Contract Management Association (NCMA), along with six other organizations, signed an alliance agreement that formed the International Business Development Council (IBDC). The goal of this union is to develop global partnerships and programs that benefit the members represented by the constituent organizations and promote the value and recognition of their respective professions through:

The other founding organizations of the IBDC include the Association for Strategic Planning (ASP), the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP®), the Business Development Institute International (BD-Institute), the International Association of Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM), the International Project Management Association’s (IPMA) U.S. affiliate, the American Society for the Advancement of Project Management (ASAPM), and the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP). 

NCMA Executive Director Neal Couture noted, “NCMA is pleased to form this extraordinary alliance with these leading associations. This relationship can only strengthen NCMA’s ability to serve its community and provide even more value to our members.” 

The first joint project took place at the NCMA World Congress in Long Beach, California, on April 5–8. The Council joined forces on content for the business development track.
