NCMA Launches New Communities of Practice

New Online Resource Receives Positive Reaction Among Contract Management Professionals 

ASHBURN, Va. – May 6, 2008 – The National Contract Management Association (NCMA) recently launched its new Communities of Practice (CoPs) at World Congress 2008, which took place April 1316, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Attendees learned more about CoPs and celebrated the inauguration while enjoying frozen beverages at the CoPs launch party. Members also enjoyed learning from educational speakers and networking with peers at the breakfasts and conversation pods. In addition, the small business contracting e-zine, NCMA’s first electronic magazine was released.     

“We are pleased with the enthusiastic response our members and partners have shown for this exciting new resource. NCMA’s Communities of Practice offer something for everyone, whether they are new to the field or experienced professionals,” stated NCMA Executive Director, Neal Couture.  

CoPs offer expanded learning and networking opportunities for members involved in small business contracting; performance-based service acquisition; task delivery order and schedule contracting; and new professionals. 

CoPs founding sponsors have been an integral part of the community development. They are subject matter experts who provide educational and networking opportunities, contribute material for the Web sites and e-zines and actively participate in the discussion boards.
