House Introduces Bill to Increase Target Percentage For Small Business Contracting

On February 26, 2014, Rep. Sam Graves (R-MO) introduced the “Greater Opportunities for Small Business Act of 2014” (H.R. 4093). If passed, the bill would increase the percentage of contracts that the federal government must award to small businesses from 23 percent to 25 percent. Additionally, the bill would increase the goal percentage of subcontracts that agencies make available to small businesses from 35.9 percent to 40 percent. The bill was referred to the House Committee on Small Business.
