House Introduces Bill to Encourage Use of Remanufactured Parts in the Federal Fleet

On February 11, 2014, Rep. Gary Peters (D-MI) introduced the “Federal Vehicle Repair Cost Savings Act of 2014” (H.R. 4056). This bill would require federal agencies to encourage the use of remanufactured vehicle components to maintain the federal fleet of civilian vehicles. This mandate would not be required if using such parts would reduce the quality of vehicle performance, delay the return to service of a vehicle, or not reduce costs. The bill was referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
