VA Extends Period Between VOSB Re-verification

On August 22, 2013, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) issued a final rule aimed at reducing the administrative burden placed on veteran-owned small businesses (VOSBs), including service-disabled veteran–owned small businesses (SDVOSBs), that wish to participate in VA acquisition set-asides for such entities. The final rule changes the re-verification requirements for VOSB and SDVOSB status, requiring companies to re-verify such status once every two years rather than annually. The rule became effective August 22, 2013. (78 Fed. Reg. 52085, 8/22/2013.)
