Senate Introduces Bill to Provide for Automatic Continuing Resolutions
February 11, 2013
On January 22, 2013, Sen. Robert Portman (R-OH) introduced the “End Government Shutdowns Act” (S. 29). If passed, the bill would amend Title 31 of the U.S. Code to provide for automatic continuing resolutions, which would appropriate such sums as may be necessary to continue any program, project, or activity for which funds were provided in the preceding fiscal year, and end government shutdowns. The bill has been referred to the Senate Committee on Appropriations.
