DOD, GSA, and NASA Issue Proposed Rule to Clarify Contractor Duties Under the Defense Base Act

On March 20, 2013, the Department of Defense (DOD), the General Services Administration (GSA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) issued a proposed rule to amend Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.228-3, “Workers Compensation Insurance (Defense Base Act),” to clarify contractor and subcontractor responsibilities under the Defense Base Act. Specifically, the proposed rule seeks to clarify contractor and subcontractor responsibilities regarding:

Written comments on the proposed rule should be submitted on or before May 20, 2013. (78 Fed. Reg. 17176, 3/20/2013.)
