Senate Subcmte. Reviews Proposed Wartime Contracting Bill
April 17, 2012
Senator Jim Webb (D-VA) will testify before the Senate Homeland Security Subcommittee on Contracting Oversight today on the Comprehensive Contingency Contracting Reform Act.
Sen. Webb and Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) introduced the legislation, which aims to increase accountability and stop waste, fraud and abuse in overseas contracting, on Feb. 29, 2012.
The legislation is based on recommendations from a final report released last August by the Commission on Wartime Contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan, which found as much as $60 billion of waste and fraud in wartime contracts for the two wars.
