SAIC to Hire 1,500 Military Vets

McLean-based government contractor SAIC Inc. said it plans to hire 1,500 military veterans companywide in 2012.
SAIC has 41,000 employees worldwide and about 16,000 in the Washington area, making it one of the region's 10 largest employers. The company said 25 percent of its current employees are military vets.
The new initiative is part of the White House's Joining Forces program, led by first lady Michelle Obama, to encourage businesses to hire service members, vets and their families.
