February 29, 2012
Days before Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta is scheduled to visit Fort Campbell to observe and talk to the troops, Pentagon Press Secretary George Little spoke candidly with The Leaf-Chronicle about the challenges facing the Department of Defense.
Little, whose full title is Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs, has had a distinguished career with the Central Intelligence Agency and with the National Counter-terrorism Center prior to serving at the Pentagon.
On Wednesday, he spoke about controversial changes to the military medical program known as Tricare, as well as upcoming changes to the defense structure as a result of cuts to the defense budget.
