Use of AbilityOne Contractors Lauded at DAU Symposium
February 23, 2012
Use of AbilityOne contractors by the Department of Defense should not be seen as a threat to small business contracting, the Director of the U.S. AbilityOne Commission told contracting personnel yesterday at Defense Acquisition University.
Speaking at the Wednesday morning session of the 2012 DAU Alumni Association South Region Symposium, Tina Ballard, AbilityOne CEO and Director, referred to what she termed the "myth" that AbilityOne hurts small business. "But this is definitely not the case," she said.
She said small businesses should recognize that AbilityOne employees do not pose a threat to their ability to compete for pieces of government contracts.
