Shlachter & Co.: Pentagon Bigwig to vVsit Lockheed Martin

November 20, 2011

The Pentagon's top weapon buyer will be in Fort Worth today for a firsthand look at how things are progressing at Lockheed Martin on the F-35 joint strike fighter.

Frank Kendall, acting undersecretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics, would seem to have good credentials to know the right questions to ask and whether answers have B-52-size holes.

Kendall is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, has a master's degree in aerospace engineering and an MBA, and is also a lawyer. All good skills for dealing with defense contractors.
