Stan Soloway wins the Herbert Roback Memorial Award

NCMA is pleased to announce that Stan Z. Soloway, Fellow, is selected as the recipient of the Herbert Roback Memorial Award. The award will be presented at NCMA’s World Congress 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee, on July 23, 2013.
The Herbert Roback Memorial Award is the highest honor that NCMA awards in acknowledgment of contributions to the betterment of contract management. Herbert Roback, for whom the award is named, devoted the major part of his professional life to public service in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was a civil servant for 33 years, 23 of those as a staff member of the House Committee on Government Operations, the last four as staff director.
Mr. Soloway is president and CEO of the Professional Services Council, the principal national trade association of the government professional and technical services industry. Soloway assumed the presidency in January 2001. PSC’s almost 350 member companies include small to large firms providing a full range of professional services to every federal agency.
Prior to joining PSC, Soloway served as the deputy undersecretary of defense (acquisition reform) and concurrently as director of Secretary of Defense William Cohen’s Defense Reform Initiative.
Soloway is exceptionally dedicated to the contract management profession and to the National Contract Management Association. He is a well-recognized speaker in the acquisition, procurement, and contract management disciplines and is frequently quoted in well-respected media publications as a voice for the acquisition workforce. He is a strong advocate for the professional growth and educational advancement of government and industry contract and acquisition personnel due to his understanding of the vital role they play in delivering goods and services to the American people.
