Personal branding and your job search

Hiring managers spend a short amount of time reviewing résumé before making decision about whether to reject you or consider you further. So in order to stand out you must consider yourself as a brand. By having a strong message of who you are, what experience you have and what direction you're going in, you're expressing your individuality to the hiring manager instead of being a faceless part of the crowd.
