SpeakersThomas McCuin, Congressional Liaison, Department of Defense Office of Small Buisness Programs Tom McCuin is a 1989 Army ROTC graduate of the University of Miami, where he majored in Politics and Public Affairs. Since May 2012, he has been the contracted Congressional Liaison for the Department of Defense's Office of Small Business Programs, managing the office's Congressional outreach and reporting, as well as tracking and analyzing relevant legislation. He is a veteran communicator who as a contractor built the Army's communications plan for the Institutional Adaptation initiative, and as a mobilized Reservist in the Army's Office of the Chief of Public Affairs, led the media relations portion of the Army's efforts on Capitol Hill to protect the funding and control of its unmanned aerial systems, the Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter, and the Joint Cargo Aircraft. He has worked in numerous political campaigns from the local to presidential level, and in 2000 was elected to the Board of Selectmen in his hometown of Groton, Massachusetts, before deploying on the first of two combat tours in Afghanistan with the 450th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne), where he still serves as a Company Commander. Ryan Reid, Founder, Bidspeed Ryan Reid is the founder of NetQuarry, the leading Enterprise Application Infrastructure Software company for SaaS (Software-as-a-service) applications. In 2009, NetQuarry launched Bidspeed, the only Government Opportunity Based Marketing and Business Development application directly integrated with federal opportunity data sources. Charles M. Baker, President, MCB Lighting Founder, President, and CEO of MCB Lighting and Electrical, Inc., Charles M. Baker is very active in the community sitting on congressional panels and round tables on Capital Hill. He has also sat on the Presidential Small Business Financial Panel with Treasury Secretary Geitner and SBA Administrator Karen Mills. Mr. Baker is an Electrical and Communication Systems expert with over 25 years of experience managing electrical & communication's systems activities and energy conservation. Mr. Baker retired as the Chief of Facilities for Andrew's AFB where he managed over 1200 facilities valued at $1.78 billion. His management for work assignments and manpower planning led to an enormous quality improvement resulting in his organization being selected the best in the Air Force.
