NCMA Anti-Spam Policy

One of NCMA’s core values is to provide tools, resources, and opportunities for our customers and especially our members. The problem of increasing spam has led us to formulate a spam policy to protect NCMA staff, officers, and members.

If you are a member and would like to report a spam incident, you can send us an e-mail at spam_abuse@ncmahq.org.

NCMA does not:

  • Permit unsolicited e-mails to be sent to any e-mail addresses published on our Web site(s). If you are not sure who to contact, please refer your question to memberservices@ncmahq.org.

  • Authorize the harvesting, mining, or collection of e-mail addresses published on our Web site(s).

  • Provide technical support to customers or members, nor manage any of our customers’ or members’ e-mail services and applications.

NCMA advises its customers and members to:

  • Never respond to spam e-mail.

  • Block the sender and/or sender’s domain (@senderscompany.com) in your e-mail program’s spam or junk mail filter. Most current e-mail applications are equipped with basic features to block spam and junk mail.

  • Regularly scan and clean your computer for malicious software. Malicious programs such as spy-ware or ad-ware are known to capture information on your computer, such as your e-mail addresses. For more information on this topic, see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spyware.

  • Report spam activity to your e-mail provider, network administrator, and Internet service provider. Most Internet service providers and e-mail providers have an internet/cyber abuse form or e-mail address to which you can submit your report. Repeat offenders are commonly placed on a blacklist server where their e-mail capabilities will be seized.

  • Purchase a third party spam filter program for more advanced features such as Cloudmark for MS Outlook and Outlook express. Programs like McAfee PC Protection Plus also provide a wide variety of PC protection abilities. EarthLink and software such as Sotori provide a permission-based e-mail address verification system for their users.
